I am also on team "Unpack boxes and check that everything is there." We've got this sense of walking into a room and forgetting why we came in, and taking stock of our self and our surroundings should fix that.
Also going to recommend unpacking, check if everything made it here (I know I've left things behind a time or two), take in the new space, and acquire food (I'm really not picky how) for yourself and any helpers.
* Find local ISP based on area code, also check for fiber optic.
**IF FIBER: Your LAN should be 10 gigabit
**IF COAX: Your LAN should be gigabit
**OTHER ISP TYPE: Gigabit. Consider home caching servers (HTTP/S MITM proxy cache)
*Essential home servers:
**OpnSense configured to use Wireguard/OpenVPN with a server for a whole-house VPN
**Jellyfin/Plex. Enable UPNP and literally anything in your house can play media from it.
**A spare PC for torrents. Literally just for torrents.
Check out the house to see if the condition of every room is as you last left it - no water damage due to accidental open window or something - and then start unpacking a few basic things as you take us readers through any immediate need-to-know stuff about you.
Check your spells and then make a ruckus to attract the guard over... wait no wrong universe.
Use whatever tech/means are available (smartphone, internet enabled computer, psychic plane telepathy, phone book and rotary phone, ect) to check out the local area and get some food delivered. If anyone helped us move let them know lunch is on us and is on the way (unless it was a moving company then thank and pay them and tell them bye).
While waiting for food check and start unpacking the most important boxes (especially any that might trigger some backstory like memories) and get familiar with the new place!
You have successfully finished moving into your new house.
It's about noon.
What do you do?
